purpose :Try to correlate patients satisfaction after their LASIK surgery with measurable pre-operative patient characteristics in Low, Moderate and High Myopia Groups .
Methods :A prospective investigation involving a consecutive .series of 684eyes in 354 patients undergoing LASIK for the correction of myopia form –2 to –16 with cylinder up to –4 diopters .patients were given self-evaluation sheets post-operatively at least 3 months after LASIK to evaluate potential symptoms and side effects of surgery as well as satisfaction . ANOVA method was adopted for the evaluations.
Results :Patients satisfaction was correlated to reported symptoms ,side effects .They were also evaluated with pre-operative measurements of papillary size ,levels of myopia , astigmatism and the postoperative use of topical corticosteroids .
Conclusion: LASIK has a high level of patient satisfaction. And moderate myopia patients have highest satisfaction in three groups . However ,more possible correlations with pre-operative evaluations should be considered to identify who might be dissatisfied after LASIK.
